On the last Sunday of August 2016. Museum of Silesian Uprisings in Świętochłowice organized event commemorating the anniversary of the outbreak of I and II Silesian Uprising.
The program included a number of attractions: the projection of the Film Encyclopedia Silesian Uprisings, concert band Fang „Sing you Silesia” and the Song and Dance „Little Silesia”, an exhibition soldiers „From the Kosciuszko uprising to the Warsaw Uprising”, a presentation of posters ASP students Katowice and the Silesian Tournament Family enjoying great interest. You could also explore the museum exhibition or take part in the educational game „We play in the Uprising.” At the end, all together with a team of „Little Silesia” sang and danced to the famous Silesian and insurgent songs.

21 August 2016 r. In the Polish Cultural and Educational Association in Piotrowice near Karvina in the Czech Republic held a „Focus Insurgent”, commemorating the 97th anniversary of the outbreak of the Silesian Uprising. The event was under the auspices of the Museum of Silesian Uprisings in Świętochłowice.
In program:

• Opening of the exhibition „flew into Silesia white eagle”
• Lecture about equipment Silesian Insurgents,
• Ceremonial drill – performed by the Living History Group 4 Rifle Regiment Podhalański from Cieszyn,
• Games and sports and ceremonial bonfire.

It is worth recalling that Piotrowice are a place where broke the I Silesian Uprising.

Known for his popular cooking shows, author of cookbooks – Remigiusz Rączka visited as part of the Culinary Trail „Silesian Tastes”, conducted by the Silesian Tourist Organization, our museum. He talked about the Silesian culinary traditions, promoting and signing his books. An account of the visit you will see in the next episode of „Rączka cooks” on TVP Katowice.

Under this title July 5, 2016 r. – The 95th anniversary of the end of the Third Silesian Uprising in the Hall of Silesian Parliament held a public debate. Participants of the meeting discussed how to tell a complex and arduous history of Upper Silesia, at the same time to be interested in it as the biggest audience.
The debate was opened by Wojciech Saługa, Marshal of the Silesian with Dawid Kostempski- President of Świętochłowice and Dariusz Kortko – editor of „Gazeta Wyborcza” newspaper in Katowice.
The discussion was attended by Jarosław Bełdowski – collector, donor of the Museum of Silesian Uprisings, Jerzy Gorzelik – councilor Silesia Province Assembly, prof. Ryszard Kaczmarek – historian and Paul Matyszkiewicz – consultant RODN „WOM” in Katowice and the participants of the meeting. Also we have showed  Illustrated reportage of  Józef Krzyk dedicated to the Silesian uprisings, and the next episode of „Film Encyclopedia of  Silesian Uprisings,” directed by Maciej Marmola and Kamila Niesłony.

1 July 2016. Opened in the Museum exhibition of sculptures by Antoni and Leszek Korzekwa „Prayer in the wood” .The exhibition is dedicated to the World Youth Day and can be seen until 14 August 2016. On the opening day of the exhibition guided by the author Leszek Korzekwa.

Colorful procession started this year’s City Festival. Participants set off from Towers KWK ,,Polska” to stay in the Silesian Culture Center on the Accord, where there was a concert partner cities. Visited museum curators from the Museum of the Warsaw Uprising

In the footsteps of  Donnersmarcks  in Świętochłowice was held, organized by the Museum of Silesian Uprisings common bicycle tour. On the road you could see and hear about the places in Swietochlowice associated with  Donnersmarcks, including Lutheran Church of St. John the Baptist, the building of the Board of Mines and Steelworks, Little Castle, Hospital in Piaśniki and former Zinc Smelter „Silesia”. Trip ended at the Towers KWK ,,Polska”, where participants gave their cards released of riddles about the watched places. Correctly solved the puzzle took part in the prize draw.
There were also eager to see the museum exhibition.

Conference „The fate of the Silesian Insurgents during the Second World War”
September 3, 2015 r. at 11.00 in the Museum held a conference on the fate of the Silesian Insurgents during the Second World War. The co-organizer of this event was the Institute of National Remembrance Branch in Katowice.
